This year for the first time ever we went on vacation for spring break! We didn't start out very small, no, we decided to drive to Orlando, Florida. It was an 18 hour trip, and the kids did great!!
I was very proud of them the whole way. I really loved seeing things turn green the farther south we drove, and also the temperature going up! When we arrived in Orlando it was 82 degrees:) We spent 4 days in Florida at the Liki Tiki Village.
The resort was wonderful!
There was Liki Tiki Lagoon which was a small water park with water slides and wave pool. The kids loved all the slides and Natalie had slides just her size that she thought were "totally fun!" Colin and I stayed with kids and caught them coming out of the slides and we also went down them too! (We had to have a little fun too:)
They also had regular pools too. We were very fortunate to have a room right outside one of the pools so we could go back and forth very easily. This was especially nice when Natalie would take naps and the kids could still swim! At this pool there was also a kiddie pool and a hot tub. It was definitely more than we expected.
The last day we were there we went to Sea World and had a great time!
The kids really enjoyed seeing all the animals and watching the dolphin and shamu shows! Even though Colin and I had both been there in the past it is always a different experience with your kids. I loved to see the excitement and awe on their faces when they saw things that were amazing to them! We had a wonderful time and would definitely take another road trip!
I have realized in recent months (some kind of revelation I guess) how much I need to enjoy them all at their ages because it really is going fast and these times need to be cherished!
